INTERNATIONAL MEDIA PRIZE «NEWSKY AWARD»: WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW
The Nevsky Award has been held for several years and is widely known among representatives of the media industry. In this article, we would like to talk about the Award and clarify important details regarding this initiative in the field of mass media and journalism.
About the Name
The Newsky Award has a name that symbolizes clear skies and freedom of expression. The symbol of the Award is a dove — a bird of peace and purity. In 2023, the name was changed in order to indicate a clearer meaning of the idea behind the Award (note — earlier «Nevsky Award»). The name and symbol reflects the ideals that the Newsky Award seeks to uphold and encourage among the journalistic community: openness, purity of mind and the maintenance of world peace. The Award is intended to celebrate the individuality and achievements that young and experienced journalists bring to their professional activities and to society.
